Understanding Your Walk

Mark & Sylvie’s is inspired to be working with Senstride and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne to investigate how technology can help older Australians avoid having a fall. Feel free to watch this video to follow the story.

Digital Mentor Program
Update: 22 Dec 2025
Sometimes an older person receives an iPad or phone as a gift. However, without the right support, it may not get used. Which is sad, given it could help them be more connected.
Fortunately, together with Atticus Health, Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care received a grant from the Good Things Foundation to help improve digital literacy. With that, we helped train our staff to better help our older clients and patients with digital technology. This eventually led to creating our first “Volunteer Coordinator” and Lead Digital Mentor, Jo (aka Queen of Fun!). From there, we reached out to patients and friends to become Digital Mentors who Jo has been meeting with and training. Our Digital Mentors are an amazing group who are there to help people use their devices and the internet.
This includes how to:
- Avoid an online scam
- Book a medical appointment online
- Stay in touch with family and friends using SMS and social media
Once again, we would like to thank and acknowledge The Good Things Foundation for supporting us to get this program off the ground. If you know anyone who would benefit from the assistance of a Digital Mentor, please let us know, we’d be glad to help.

🏠 Adelaide Nurses: Are you ready to lead with Soul?
Tired of the "transactional" side of healthcare? Ready to trade the desk for the heart of the community?
Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care is growing, and we’re looking for a Home Care Partner (Registered or Enrolled Nurse) to lead our mission in Southern Adelaide. This isn't just a management role—it’s an opportunity to be a visible leader who brings medical excellence and deep compassion directly into the homes of older Australians.
Why this is the move for your career:
✨ True Autonomy: Lead and mentor your own team of care workers with the backing of an award-winning national group (Atticus Health).
✨ Deep Satisfaction: Get off the "conveyor belt" and build real, personal relationships with your clients and their families.
✨ Professional Growth: We invest in our leaders. Benefit from structured mentoring and a clear path for career progression.
✨ A Values-Led Culture: Join a team that actually lives by Teamwork, Kindness, and Creativity.
The Role:
This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership position. You’ll be overseeing daily operations, developing client-centred care plans, and ensuring our "Driven by Soul" philosophy is felt in every home we visit.
What we’re looking for:
✅ Current AHPRA Registration (RN or EN).
✅ A leader who thrives under pressure and shows initiative.
✅ Someone who believes that home care is personal and happens in person. (No remote work here—we’re on the ground where it matters!)
Ready to find out why we have the friendliest home care managers in the world?

Atticus Health and Mark & Sylvie's was pleased to host a special presentation for the Willow Lodge community in Bangholme. We welcomed a vibrant group of residents to discuss staying independent, mobile and supported at home to proactively avoid hospital stays.
The afternoon connected residents with local experts. Liam from Homeable demonstrated smart home modifications, while Dr Dudi Spicer discussed his specialised aged care and home visit services. Hoda Palizian also introduced her psychology services, providing vital mental health support directly to the community.
We were heartened by the strong attendance and the chance to connect over refreshments. This initiative reflects our mission across all Atticus clinics: bringing essential care to the heart of our communities ... See MoreSee Less

On behalf of Mark & Sylvie's Home Care, we wish all our staff, clients, their families and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A year goes by quickly. So taking stock of the day, the moment, means a lot. Thank you for all the moments of your life, in 2025 that you shared with us. Including last Friday at our Christmas lunch. A fun day indeed, and quickly has become a permanent fixture!
We also thank all our staff for continuing care over this period. It surely takes a team to make it all happen.
Here's to a safe end of year and holiday season. And whether you've been naughty or nice - have fun! 😉

What a festive and heartwarming Christmas Lunch we had this week at our Bargara Hub! 🎄✨ Our clients had a wonderful time catching up with friends from previous social days, and it was fantastic introducing them to the new staff who have come aboard this year.
The atmosphere was set with classic Christmas tunes from the '50s, '60s, and '70s! Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of roast chicken, freshly carved ham, and old-school desserts like Eton mess, Lion's Christmas cake with custard, and Liquorice slice. We also celebrated two special birthdays!
A huge thank you to Jan, the wife of our client Barry, for her beautiful and moving speech. Her appreciation for the team's caring and dedicated effort—and for always going the extra mile for clients—means the world to us. It was a perfect day of food, friendship, and festive cheer, brought to you by the wonderful Bargara team! ... See MoreSee Less
