Who are Mark & Sylvie?
Mark and Sylvia Gomes were two migrants who emigrated from India to Australia in 1983. They got off the plane, both aged over 40, with a total of $200 in their pockets and four kids.
Their lives were dominated by the sole mission of raising their four children to the best of their ability and creating a better future for them. Dr Floyd Gomes, founder of Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care is the youngest of those four children.

Mark & Sylvie's Home Care is uniquely owned and run by local doctors in Melbourne who are passionate about caring for older persons. We maintain strong communication with your own GP and medical team, so that everyone is working together.

They allowed me to enjoy life again
John suffered from a chronic back condition and was often in pain. He was able to see an occupational therapist (OT) through Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care network.
Following a recommendation from the OT, he received a mattress that had been specially tailored to his needs. John’s back pain improved greatly and he was able to rest easy, knowing that his package covered the entire cost of the new set up!
Helping with your questions
To be approved for a home care package, you must have an assessment done by My Aged Care. If you need help to navigate the My Aged Care system, let us know.
Anyone is free to swap providers, at any time they like. You will have to let your current provider know that you like to swap. There will be a waiting period, usually around 1 or 2 weeks, and there may be an exit fee payable as well. You will also need to let My Aged care know, and they will re activate the referral code.
Compassionate Care
Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care is an approved provider of government funded Home Care Packages. It is run by doctors who are passionate about caring for older people and helping them to stay living at home safely and healthily.
Personal Care & Companionship
Our carers can help you prepare and cook meals, or arrange for them to be delivered from a provider like Lite n’ Easy. Your Home Care Plan can cover the cost of preparing and transporting meals.
Domestic Assistance & Transportation
We very much value helping an individual stay connected. We can help you with transportation, attend social outing, family gatherings, recreational and volunteer activities.
Nursing
Our enrolled and registered nurses can assist you with your medical needs. This might include providing wound dressings, dispensing medications and administering injections.
Allied Health & Home Maintenance
We have gardeners who can mow your lawns and tidy up your garden. For larger scale jobs involving big trees, we can engage our trusted contractors.
Dementia Support
Dementia is a progressive condition that affects memory, cognitive function, and daily activities. It can be overwhelming for both individuals diagnosed with dementia and their families. Knowledge and understanding are crucial in navigating this journey.
Telehealth and Remote Patient Monitoring
There are many ways that technology can assist and improve care at home. Many of these are now rapidly advancing. Finding which technological aid is best suited for you, and indeed, when and how to use them, can be tricky.
Integrated Care
We know it can be difficult to navigate the complex healthcare system on your own. Our friendly staff will coordinate with your medical providers to ensure an integrated experience so you can focus on getting the care you need.
We focus on helping you stay in regular contact with your general practitioner. Working as a team in this way is by far the best approach for your care.
We can assist you in accessing telehealth services so you can consult a healthcare professional by video or phone in the comfort of your own home.

What a festive and heartwarming Christmas Lunch we had this week at our Bargara Hub! 🎄✨ Our clients had a wonderful time catching up with friends from previous social days, and it was fantastic introducing them to the new staff who have come aboard this year.
The atmosphere was set with classic Christmas tunes from the '50s, '60s, and '70s! Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of roast chicken, freshly carved ham, and old-school desserts like Eton mess, Lion's Christmas cake with custard, and Liquorice slice. We also celebrated two special birthdays!
