FAQ

We do not use agency staff, we believe in and promote building of relationships between the carers and clients. Depending on how often your visits are scheduled for, you can expect to get to know 2-3 carers.

It’s important to us that client and carers get along, and we understand you may feel more comfortable with for example a female for help with personal hygiene. Every effort will be made to honour any requests you may have, but at times due to sick leave, it may not be possible on the odd occasion.

To be approved for a home care package, you must have an assessment done by My Aged Care. If you need help to navigate the My Aged Care system, let us know.

Anyone is free to swap providers, at any time they like. You will have to let your current provider know that you like to swap. There will be a waiting period, usually around 1 or 2 weeks, and there may be an exit fee payable as well. You will also need to let My Aged care know, and they will re activate the referral code.

There are no extra fees, just what is in our fee schedule.

We can provide private services to clients who hasn’t got a home care package, if they are happy to fund the services themselves.

At the moment we are only offering fully managed packages.

Mark and Sylvie’s Home Care do not charge a daily fee.

Our service area is continually expanding! We have our home care hubs in Hasting and Bangholme, based at our medical clinic there. We currently have clients from Blairgowrie to Balaclava, across Dandenong, Drouin, and even Phillip Island.

This can usually be arranged. There’s a few different ways of doing it, depending on the situation, but as long as your current gardener/ carer  has an ABN (or works for a company with an ABN), and is willing to invoice a home care provider, this is not a problem

Home maintenance

Mark and Sylvie’s Home care can provide simple home maintenance, such as gutter, window and solar panel cleaning, yard cleaning etc. We can do odd jobs around the house, such as checking smoke alarms. It’s important to note that government funding can not be used in any way to improve the capital value of your home, but small jobs to improve safety are permitted.
